Almost every woman can tell you her story of receiving an unwanted sexual advance while on the job. Sexual harassment, unfortunately, is still widespread despite well-publicized laws that have been set up to combat it. Further, it can happen to men too. It can happen to people regardless of sexual orientation, by others of the same or different gender or sexual orientation.

But sexual harassment does not always consist of sexual advances. Sometimes the other employees and/or supervisory staff can behave in such a manner that the workplace becomes a sexually hostile environment. This may occur when dirty jokes are prevalent, people discuss their sexual desires and proclivities, physical touching of one another is permitted, pornographic movies or magazines are circulated, etc. No one is required to work in an environment that feels sexually intimidating or offensive.
